It is a therapy to rebuild (regenerate) enamel lost due to carious lesion by non-invasive introduction of peptide implants. The peptides are analogs of human amelogenin protein that naturally produces enamel from minerals during embryogenesis.
It's called enamel "implantation" to stress that we actually implant protein matrix that re-builds enamel from patient's salive minerals within a month. However, in clinics it's a simple tooth hygienic procedure (non invasive, just add one drop on enamel).
When implanted into initial caries lesion, INNODENT™ products form a fibrillary biomatrix and attract tooth minerals from human saliva to rebuild the lost enamel. As a result, in a period of few weeks new enamel crystallites and prisms are formed. Since it is based on amelogenin proteins, it mimics natural enamel formation process (odonotgenesis).
Utilizing the above-mentioned mechanism, INNODENT™ peptides stimulate natural regeneration of enamel from inside.
INNODENT™ enamel implantation therapy is completely non-invasive, pain and hassle free. It takes 15 minutes to treat up to 5 teeth.
Indications for treatment:
InnoDent works perfect in both deciduous and permanent teeth.
Remineralization with fluoride & other mineral products is a well-acknowledged preventive measure in caries progression. However, it does not induce re-building of new structural elements inside the carious lesion.
Regeneration by INNODENT™ technology works perfectly both in tooth enamel and dentine. During dentine treatment, however, etching should not be done.
For initial white spots caries and enamel cracks, single procedure is enough to obtain permanent results.
To optimize treatment of enamel hypoplaisa or amelogenesis imperfecta, this implantation procedure can be performed once every 3 months
